Hello, my name is Caroline. Welcome!
I have always loved art and all things artsy. The Colorful Engineer originally started as a blog to record my various artistic activities- anything from painting, to photography, to gardening, to crafting. As time has passed, and particularly with the addition of two small children, I’ve focused most on my painting. I work on my art part-time usually in the evenings. During the day I work in my field of training: engineering. The name “Colorful Engineer” gives a nod to both my current profession and hobby.
For a long time my preferred technique was oil on canvas but more recently I have been working primarily with watercolors. I am inspired by my children, the world around me, and a general desire to try to capture the good in the world. In my paintings I strive for some level of realism.
